My current homebrew (double IPA) in my favorite Dances with Dirt pint glass. It is going to be a good year.
1 lb ground beef
1T chili powder
1/2 t black pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1 can tomato soup
1 can (8oz) tomato sauce
8 oz cooked spaghetti noodles- cooked and cut into small segments
1 can pinto beans, drained and partially mashed
Finely diced white onion
Brown meat and drain off fat.
Add chili powder, black pepper, and minced garlic cook for a couple minutes.
Add soup and sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
Add noodles and beans. Continue to heat until warm.
Serve in bowls, topped with raw onions.
Any structure will need firm foundation. There are many directions to go with chili, but I cut my teeth on chili like this. Grandma would serve a version of this with saltines. A cold day demands comfort food and this recipe delivers.
